Palaces, pagodas, tombs & temples
Hue, capital of the Nguyen emperors until 1945, still resonates with the glories of imperial Vietnam, although large parts of it were destroyed by American bombings during Vietnam War.
My stay in Hue was quite short, as the city has not much charm besides its main attraction, the Imperial Citadel. The locals have been very warm and welcoming though. More and more young Vietnamese embrace the contact with foreigners to improve their English skills.
